Our
Story
YEAR 1940
The precinct we know today was built in 1940, when General Lázaro Cárdenas del Río was President of the Republic and Colonel Rafael Pedrajo was Governor of the State.
The reason for its construction was to house the primary school called "Escuela Primaria Vicente V. Ibarra".
In August of that same year, the campus was inaugurated and enabled as a primary school, functioning as such until 1970.
YEAR 1970-1977
Until 1970 the precinct ceased to function as an elementary school in order to remodel and refurbish it for commercial activities, thus becoming the Municipal Market of San José del Cabo.
YEAR 1977
On May 17, 1977 the building was inaugurated and officially opened its doors to the people of Cabeños, becoming a meeting point for local and international tourists.
YEAR 2022
Throughout the years we have lived through a number of natural, social, environmental, religious and political events that have damaged or conditioned the activities we perform day after day in our facilities, however we have managed to move forward thanks to the love and commitment we put into our work, thanks to our goals, values and the desire to continue improving day by day but above all thanks to our visitors who brighten and give life to OUR Municipal Market Alberto A. Alvarado Arámburo.
